Apple Refreshes iMac, MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini with M4

This week, Apple announced a series of updates/refreshes to the Mac product line bringing the iMac, MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini (which also received a redesign) up to date with the latest generation of Apple Silicon (Apple M4 chips) to support Apple Intelligence while keeping the starting prices of each product line unchanged.

Though the MacBook Air didn’t get an upgrade to M4, it now comes standard with 16GB of unified memory and retains its low starting price.

For businesses that rely on the Mac and may have been holding off on upgrades, now is a good time to revisit upgrades and plan accordingly, especially if you are running older Macs with Intel-based processors.

Of course, if you have an older Mac that runs fine and still gets the job done, that’s great. But if you’re looking to replace older, slower performing Macs, upgrading to the latest generation of the iMac, MacBook Pro, or Mac Mini may be worthwhile.

For those that need performance coupled with portability, the MacBook Air is still a great buy at a reasonable price even without M4.

For more intense workloads, the Mac Studio and Mac Pro are available but remain unchanged for now.

Routinely upgrading technology is an important investment for businesses. To get the most value out of your investment, be sure to align your technology needs with those of your business.

Plan, strategize, and budget accordingly.
