Considering An Upgrade To Windows 11?
Here are some basic tips and best practices if you’re considering upgrading to Windows 11!
Download and run the Microsoft PC Health Check app to verify your PC is compatible with Windows 11
Verify key software that you/your business utilizes is compatible with/supported in Windows 11. You may need to upgrade older software to the latest supported version. Plan and budget accordingly!
Install any applicable updates to third-party software to ensure compatibility with Windows 11
Run Windows Update to ensure your current version of Windows 10 is up to date
Verify hardware and peripherals are compatible with/supported in Windows 11. You may need to upgrade/replace older hardware/peripherals. Plan and budget accordingly!
Update any applicable device drivers for hardware and peripherals (if necessary) to ensure compatibility with Windows 11
Perform a backup of your PC to external and/or cloud storage prior to upgrading to Windows 11
Download a current version of the Windows 11 installer from the Microsoft site or create Windows 11 installation media using Microsoft’s Windows 11 Media Creation Tool. You can also perform an upgrade to Windows 11 via Windows Update, if available.
Keep in mind that even if your PC is compatible with Windows 11, if it only meets the minimum requirements, it may not perform optimally for your specific use case.
