Does Your Business Really Need Office Space?

It’s essential for businesses to align resources with business needs.

When it comes to commercial office space, it’s no exception.

There are certainly many points of view over remote, hybrid, and onsite work, but for each respective business, it’s important to avoid applying a “one size fits all” or “one size fits most” mentality or simply adopting the status quo. Instead, focus on what works best for your business.

For small businesses with limited budgets and financial resources, commercial office space can be a substantial expense and significantly impact the bottom line so it’s important to look at the big picture, consider all sensible options, then make an informed decision.

If a fully remote setup works for your business, then it can certainly offer savings. A portion of those savings should go towards strengthening your remote infrastructure and if necessary, getting a professional virtual office physical mailing address.

For businesses that may be predominantly remote but may require periodic access to physical office space (ex: conference room for client meetings, in-person team meetings/collaborations/brainstorming), office sharing / subletting or co-working spaces may be viable options.

However, if branding and privacy are essential, consider a short-term commercial lease without all the bells and whistles (ex: smaller affordable space, limited to no private offices, small open bullpen workspace, decent conference room).

If you’re a business with a lease coming due, it’s a good time to carefully re-evaluate your commercial office space needs before committing to another term agreement.
