QuickBooks Desktop 2022 Compatibility With Windows 11
Intuit has announced QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Enterprise 2022 (R3 or later) are certified as fully compatible with Windows 11 64-bit (natively installed). The key is R3 or later … you must make sure your version of QuickBooks Desktop 2022 is updated to R3 or later if it’s not already.
To determine which version release of QuickBooks Desktop 2022 you have installed or are running, launch QuickBooks Desktop 2022. When the window to open or select your company file appears, press F2 or CTRL + 1 on your keyboard. If your function keys serve dual roles, you may need to press Fn + F2.
A Product Information window will appear. The first line labeled Product will identify the Intuit QuickBooks Desktop product you have installed and the version release. Make sure the product release shows R3 or later. If it does, you should be ready to upgrade to Windows 11 provided your computer supports Windows 11. If not, go to the menu and select Help then Update QuickBooks Desktop… In the Overview tab, click on Update Now then select any updates available and click Get Updates. Follow the prompts to complete the update.
If you have Automatic Update enabled, QuickBooks will periodically check for and install updates to keep your version of QuickBooks Desktop up to date. If you don’t have Automatic Update enabled, you can enable it in the Options tab. Some companies may prefer to manually perform updates to allow time for new version releases to be evaluated/tested prior to deployment. Check with your company’s IT department, if applicable, before making any changes.
If you choose to use other unsupported versions of QuickBooks Desktop with Windows 11, you may experience unexpected issues with the QuickBooks Desktop software which Intuit may not provide product support for. As such, if you plan on using QuickBooks Desktop software with Windows 11, be sure to use R3 or later.
One final note … before upgrading to Windows 11, be sure to back up your data on your computer. If you store your QuickBooks company files locally on the same computer, be sure to back up those company files as well.
