Running Windows On Intel-based Macs

Need to run Windows on a Mac?

If you have an Intel-based Mac, you can use Boot Camp to setup a Boot Camp partition on your Mac to install and run Windows.

When you need to run Windows, restart your computer and on startup, hold down the Option key to get to the startup options then select the Boot Camp partition. Alternatively, you can use virtualization software like Parallels Desktop (license purchase required) to install and run Windows. Virtualization software allows you to run Windows in a virtual environment without having to leave macOS. You can easily move back-and-forth between macOS and Windows.

Both options require purchasing a valid Windows license in order to install and use a fully-functional version of Windows.

Boot Camp does not currently offer native support for Windows 11 due to the TPM 2.0 requirement. The latest version of Parallels Desktop does offer support for Windows 11.
